Medical Procedure Insights: Patient Undergoing Treatment

This patient had a life saving procedure to remove cancer from the upper arch called a maxillectomy. After the surgery there is a large palatal opening left, and the airflow is disrupted and brings hypernasal speech and difficulty with resonance and pronunciation. Gently sealing that area or “obturating” it with this prosthesis helps to bring back the structures lost and the airflow is redirected properly re-establishing her speech :) I love obturators ❤️ Drop your questions for my lovely patien
