Officers responded to a burglary alarm at Webster Bank in Ridge Sunday but were met with an unexpected intruder – a buck. Suffolk police say the buck crashed through the window of the bank and became trapped inside. The deer frantically attempted to escape on its own, leaving a mess in the process.

The regular 2025-2026 deer season will end on January 19, with the closing of the flintlock season. Those hunters that have been unsuccessful will no doubt be thinking about the big buck that got away,
