Among the S&P 500's 11 sectors, communication services led with a 1% rise and health gained 0.6%, with consumer discretionary and technology also among advancers. Utilities and materials paced losing groups as they fell more than 1% each.

In commodity land, continuous futures in WTI Crude (-0.81%) declined to $56.66 today, while Natural Gas (+2.69%) rose to $2.907. Gold (-0.92% to $4,454.70), Silver (-5.51% to $76.57), and other metals fell.

The Dow Jones index closed at a record high on Tuesday. Palantir showed robust action and tested a moving average.
