New York lawmakers are considering a bill that would ban live sports betting statewide, citing problem gambling and integrity concerns.

A bill introduced in New York seeks to ban all live betting, which includes in-play esports wagering. Assembly member Linda Rosenthal introduced bill A9343, which states it “shall prohibit any casino, mobile sports wagering licensee or mobile sports wagering operator from accepting in-play sports wagers from sports bettors in this state.”
