When will this be fixed???? My wifi won't even show up and I've done ALL of the troubleshooting that all the message boards have suggested. From the research it sounds like it's a Windows problem.

My Laptop switched itself off earlier this morning claiming it had found a problem, and then got stuck in an infinite loop of fixing itself. I removed the battery and switched the laptop on (connected to the mains) and opened up the set up menu.

According to the event log, it deleted one of its files somehow, then requested installation, claims to have configured something, but now it won't start, at all. I'm not sure how to go about fixing this. Would a factory reset of the laptop restore whatever this decided to suddenly do, or is there some other way to restore that file?
